Grand Island, Neb. — The City of Grand Island is about to endure a major renovation, but you won’t be seeing it on your local roads or in the form of a new development this time around. Instead, you’ll be seeing a digital makeover.
The city website, www.grand-island.com, will have a brand new look with new user capabilities starting Monday, November 18. The city will also be rolling out a brand new mobile app.
“One of my top priorities since joining the city has been to improve not only our communications presence, but also our curb appeal to the public,” Communications Manager Spencer Schubert said. “This website refresh will allow us to take that next step in being transparent to the public while also making it even easier to engage with the City of Grand Island.”
The city is teaming up with website developer Apptegy for the new website, which will offer a brand new array of video capabilities as well as real-time updates on city news and events both on the site and via the city’s social media platforms.
“Citizen engagement and transparency are key tenets of our city mission,” Grand Island Mayor Roger Steele said. “This new-look website has been a long time coming and will provide unprecedented access to city information.”
The website will go live on the morning of Monday, November 18 and will impact the various city departments including sub-sites like www.giparks.com, www.gipolice.org, www.gilibrary.org and more.
