The City of Grand Island Utilities Department takes pride in keeping our employees and our customers safe. One of the ways we keep the community safe is by teaching our kids about ELECTRICAL SAFETY. Lineworkers from the Utilities Department have been conducting Electrical Safety presentations since 2001 for local schools grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. The presentation explains how electricity is made and gets to our homes, the countless ways it is used, and most importantly the possible dangers kids may encounter. The presentation lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes and contains a power point presentation and demonstrations of electricity in action.
