Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Public Library Crimetime Book Club will discuss the 1959 murder of the Clutter family of Holcomb, Kansas from Truman Capote’s classic non-fiction crime novel, “In Cold Blood” on Saturday, July 20 at 11 a.m. in Meeting Room B at the Grand Island Public Library.
On November 15, 1959 in the small farming community of Holcomb, Kansas, the brutal quadruple murder of the Clutter family was discovered. With no apparent motive and hardly any clues to follow, law enforcement began an extensive six-week investigation into the unspeakable crime. As he reconstructs the murder and the ensuing investigation, Truman Capote uses a unique blend of suspense and empathy to tell the tragic story of the Clutter family.
